Some travelers like to stay even closer to the airport when visiting Chiang Mai as many of these hotels have ample free parking; however, the downside of staying near the airport is the noise. Keep this in mind when booking your trip.

As one of the most popular places to visit in Thailand, it’s important to consider weather patterns and events before booking your trip.

Weather in Chiang Mai

The best time to visit Chiang Mai is when the weather and atmosphere are clear, cool, and sunny. We recommend visiting between October and February as the average temperature is around 27 degrees Celsius (80ºF).

If you can’t make it during this time of year, we strongly suggest that you do not come to Chiang Mai during the smokey season. The smokey season in Chiang Mai lasts from February until April and locals need air purifiers inside their homes to get fresh air.
