Visiting Cinque Terre, Italy: FAQs

So, now we’ve given you an overview of each of the Cinque Terre villages, as well as couple of nearby towns. But we understand that it’s quite a lot of information to process and you’ll probably have a bunch of questions.

In the meantime, you can find the answers to other frequently asked questions below.

Which Is The Most Beautiful Cinque Terre Village?

This is a tough one! Each of the towns, although similar in their architecture and positioning along the cliffs, has its own individual charms. But we are going to have to nominate Vernazza as the most beautiful of the five villages.

Vernazza takes the crown for its outstanding sunsets. Thanks to the town’s unique positioning around the natural geological features of the craggy cliffs, visitors and residents are granted the most beautiful sunset views.

Is Vernazza or Manarola Better?

This depends on whatyouconsider “better”. As we explained above, Vernazza is considered the most beautiful Cinque Terre town, but this also makes it one of the most heavily trafficked by tourists.

就我个人而言,我们更喜欢Manarola,我们觉得had more breathing space. This town is more spread out compared to Vernazza, so you can walk around more easily. Also, Manarola has lovely trails that wind around the harbor and through vineyards.

How Many Days Is Enough For Cinque Terre?

Again, this depends on the type of vacation you’re planning. The minimum amount of time we recommend to tour the Cinque Terre is two days. This is fine if you don’t plan on walking too much. You can take the train from town to town and enjoy the main sights.

However, if you enjoy more active holidays and want to hike, swim or go on excursions, you should plan for 4-7 days.
